Where to Dine Out

In the past few years, Miami has gone through a restaurant renaissance building on the diverse and vibrant food scene. Representative of the city's multicultural population, Miami's cuisine is a fusion of flavors from Latin America, the Caribbean, and beyond. One of our favorite restaurants in Miami (and in the world!) is The Surf Club by renowned chef Thomas Keller.

Located within The Surf Club, a historic landmark developed by Harvey Firestone of the tire-making fortune in the 1930s, this Michelin star restaurant takes inspiration from the Miami of yesterday. Serving up modern interpretations of Continental cuisine, the food preparations are exquisite and the service is top notch. Arrive before your reservation to try a cocktail at the Champagne Bar and take in the glamour of the spaces. Reservations must be made in advance online, the cocktail bars do accept walk-ins however hotel guests receive priority seating.

Where to see Art

Miami has no shortage of things to do; from outdoor recreation to sports and arts and culture, there really is an activity for every interest. The city has a long history of philanthropy which has supported many museums and cultural institutions. The influence of the annual Art Basel further established Miami as a center for contemporary art and helped support the thriving artistic community.

We suggest adding a trip to the Perez Art Museum into your race week itinerary. Located on the shore of Biscayne Bay, the building was designed by world renowned architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron. Inside the museum you will find their permanent collection featuring works by artists such as Diego Rivera, Frank Stella, and Kehinde Wiley in addition to series of temporary exhibitions. The museum has a commitment to diversity and focuses on fostering a dialogue on global artistic perspectives. The lush outdoor spaces, including the waterfront terrace, provide a picturesque setting for reflection and relaxation during a hectic race weekend.

Where to Relax

When visiting Miami your itinerary should include some R&R at one of the many luxurious wellness facilities the city has to offer.  Miami's spas feature a diverse range of treatments, from cutting-edge therapies to ancient healing traditions, all set against the backdrop of the city's stunning landscapes.

One of our favorite spas in South Beach is the Away Spa located within the W Hotel. This luxurious spa seamlessly combines modern sophistication with a laid-back Miami vibe, providing a serene haven for those seeking respite. Immerse yourself in a range of cutting-edge treatments, from signature massages to revitalizing facials, all delivered by skilled therapists in a stylish and tranquil setting. For an extra bonus, guests of the spa are invited to extend their spa day with complimentary access to sun chairs on the W’s private stretch of beach.

Where to Grab a Cocktail

Miami is known for its vibrant nightlife - with no shortage of nightclubs, cocktail bars and late night spots. We love The Sylvester, a chic cocktail bar with eclectic charm located in the Wynwood Arts District. This chic lounge is celebrated for its inventive and expertly crafted cocktails, featuring a menu that showcases a fusion of unique flavors and premium spirits. The vibrant, Instagram-worthy décor, including neon signs and lush greenery, creates an intimate and stylish setting to enjoy one of their signature drinks. Advance reservations can be made online.
